Graduate Profile

Psychology graduates are thoroughly prepared to perform a profession of public confidence, which the psychologist's profession is,  in various spheres of practice such as health care, rehabilitation, education, business, media, intercultural relations, judiciary bodies, the military and other uniform services, and non-government organizations.

Methodological and statistical knowledge acquired during the studies will allow them to conduct professional market research, questionnaires, opinion and preference polls; it also constitutes a preliminary preparation for carrying out scientific research and evaluation-implementation procedures in various spheres of practice.   Graduates will have acquired all professional practical competencies at  a basic level, and several of them at an advanced level, depending on the specialty chosen in their 3rd year of studies.

Theorectical knowledge and practical competencies of graduates are supplemented by the knowledge and ability to use ethical standards of the psychologist's profession while critical compentence will allow them to evaluate different programs, publications and effect techniques according to the criteria of EBPP - Empirically Based Psychological Practice, which is currently recommended by the international pyschologist community as the only kind of practice based on science.

Graduates will be prepared to practice the psychologist's profession which is fully compatible both with Education Standards for 5-year Psychology M.A.  Program  and international documents concerning the education of  psychologists such as the European Psychologist's Diploma, prepared by  the European Federation of Psychological Associations (EFPA).  Together with the knowledge of two foreign languages mastered during their studies this will enable graduates to communicate and cooperate with professionals from other countries.   Additionally, graduates will acquaint themselves with new technolgies such as e-learning, electronic bibliography bases, statistical packages or computer applications for designing and conducting psychological research, which will allow them to easily  function in the modern labour market and meet the expectations of the most demanding employers, both in Poland and other countries as well as in international organizations.
