Foreign Languages

Teaching foreign languages is a very important part of our curriculum. One of the goals of Chodkowska University is to equip every student with the skill of speaking fluently and confidently in at least one foreign language. This skill will help them to communicate successfully both in their professional and everyday lives.

Each student can count on individual support, extra consultations and assistance. Every student is assessed and put into the appropriate level group and has the opportunity to move to a lower or higher level group if necessary. Students are allowed to choose one of the following foreign languages: English, German, French, Russian and Spanish. Students in International Relations and Psychology day studies are required to take two languages with English compulsory and another one of their choice. Languages are taught with a focus on the terminology of the chosen faculty. Some lectures are conducted in English by English speaking professors as well as by American and European lecturers.

We also offer extracurricular language courses for a small fee. At this moment you can choose from: Spanish, Italian, Russian, German, Turkish, French, and Chinese. Other languages are always under consideration based on interest. We also help prepare students for international language exams such as TELC, TOLES (legal English) and others upon request.

We give the opportunity to our students to obtain an internationally recognized language certificate. Starting in 2008 Chodkowska University students have been offered an international exam TELC (The European Language Certificate) in 9 European languages at different levels which they can take in our school at times of their choosing.
